Youth taking their first communtion.

Mexico, April 2012
April 20 was a very special day at
Casa Alianza Mexico. At 11 a.m. kids and staff members joined together, along with a number of invited guests, to celebrate the sacrament of First Communion.
As the ceremony took place, the priest told us in his sermon that in spite of the obstacles we can come across in our journeys, we should always make sure our voices are heard.
After the ceremony, the children all received specially designed gold medals, representing the love for all of the children we care for, and the hope that this spiritual moment will help provide them nourishment and support within.
All those involved then gathered at out our main building on the Avenida Reforma in downtown Mexico City, to hold a very special party for all participants.
Such activities are an important part of the comprehensive care program provided by
Casa Alianza, by providing each child with the spiritual and religious support that they need for their healing. For these Catholic children, this was an important day.
We are so grateful for the support of our donors, like Mr. Oscar Guzman, who donated the chairs and tables for the kids to be able to enjoy the celebration. Our kind donors also provided us with cakes and candy, and the cooks at our residential homes prepared a special meal.
